Scarlet Lady Where To Eat Breakfast 2023

For the first time before a cruise, I had high expectations for the cruise line's cuisine. In this case, my standards were met... and exceeded.

A few weeks ago I wrote in four different articles about Virgin Voyages and our cruise on their first ship, the Scarlet Lady. I wrote mostly about the ship, but I also mentioned some of the food on board and showed lots of photos.

A different gastronomic experience on a cruise

Now I will delve into the RAS restaurants that I enjoyed on board the ship, and not just the top five places which I mentioned in my posts. We also ate at The Galley, Scarlet Lady's Food Court (and please don't call it a buffet), mostly for breakfast and lunch, and Pizza Place... for pizza. The only other restaurant we visited was the Bimini Beach Club kiosk, which served a Caribbean lunch.
Scarlet Lady has six main restaurants, and since we only stayed there five nights, one was left off the list: The Test Kitchen. Although I would have liked to try the innovative dishes promised in the restaurant description, my husband was not happy about it.

He just shrugged and said : “When I lived in Zurich, I ate quite microscopic portions for dinner.” Even lunch there couldn't convince him to go, so we didn't go.The only other place I'll mention is Lick Me Until Ice Cream. Yes, it has an interesting name, but it serves great ice cream. There were only two disadvantages: firstly, in the other restaurants we ate dessert every night and therefore only went there once. Secondly, there were only seven flavors of ice cream on the stand, so there wasn't much choice.

In order of preference, here are the the ones where we ate at Scarlet Lady. In most cases, I've included links to other articles so you can see what these dishes looked like.

1.) Pink agave

RAS and I eat Mexican food at least once a week at home, so we didn't expect much from this "sophisticated" version of our favorite cuisine. But we were impressed by the interesting variations of elote, potatoes with chorizo and chayote. Our appetizers of stuffed poblano and braised halibut with mole sauce and avocado and our desserts of chocolate tamale and dulce de leche ice cream made the entire meal spectacular.

2.) Gunbae

Since we were sitting in this Korean steakhouse, we shared the meal with an older woman, Georgia, and two sisters from New York . This setup led to the drinking game we all play with soju, a Korean alcoholic beverage. But this hasn't changed the banchan (marinated vegetable appetizer), the galbi and the seafood, perfectly grilled and easy to eat.

3.) Extra native

It was the first dinner we had on board and it was very good. Starting from minestrone and Caesar salad, we move on to three main courses: gnocchi with spinach and mushrooms, grilled sea bass with potatoes and fennel and black gemelli with seafood. For dessert we had a tiramisu from our Italian restaurant, which we ate and had to share because we couldn't imagine eating another one.
4.) Brightness

Without a doubt this “vegetarian” place has the most festive atmosphere with pops of color and bold black and white lines. The food matched the atmosphere. I loved the gazpacho, packed with fresh, vibrant vegetables, and the pumpkin main course. RAS was unable to eat a completely vegetarian diet, so he ate a roast chicken that was drier than it should have been. But the rainbow churros and coffee cheesecake for dessert more than made up for it.
5.) Razzle Dazzle
